Gem Sivad

Hi! I’m Gem Sivad. Nice to meet you. If you’ve seen me on twitter, Face Book or a romance loop, it was probably only a quick glimpse. I’m a hermit by inclination and live in a country setting near a small unincorporated town with a population of about 500 (give or take a wild turkey or two).

My first novel, Intimate Strangers, won the prestigious 2010 EPIC Award in two categories: Western Romance and Western Erotic romance. IS founded my Eclipse Heat series, published by Ellora’s Cave. It also unleashed a torrent of words I’d been saving to spend. Who knew I was a closet, compulsive writer?

Whether I’m working in a nineteenth century setting or in the paranormal world of witches and shifters, my heroines are always resilient, resourceful, and smart and my heroes are both dangerous and hot!

Unlikely Gentlemen: Steamy historical turn of the century romance.

Book I-River’s Edge (Available Now).

River Prescott has everything she’s ever wanted—except perhaps a man. The unconventional ranch owning artist is very certain she doesn’t want a husband. But sometimes she can’t help wishing for a lover; especially after her new neighbor trespasses and she gets a full frontal view of his assets.

Edge Grayson moves onto the rundown spread he’s inherited, expecting to stay aloof from nearby town business. But between local artist, River Prescott’s determination to seduce him and protecting her from a killer on the prowl, the ex-gunslinger is finding respectability a lot more dangerous than his former life of sin.

Book II-Outrageous Pride (Summer 2013)

Tali Fitzwilliam doesn’t know she’s the love child of a Texas rancher until he dies; but then her life turns upside-down.

Bare-knuckle boxer, Kellan Lonigan comes to Texas to inspect his investments; he meets Miss Fitzwilliam and his priorities change.

What could a bluidy Irishman and a sheltered miss find in common? Desire.

Eclipse Heat: historical erotic westerns centering around Eclipse, a town in 19th century Texas where the cowboys are rough, the women intelligent and the offer of love irresistible.

Pinch of Naughty

Publisher: Ellora’s Cave ISBN: 9781419936555

pinchofnaughty_medEleanor Lacey’s husband is as dead as their sexless marriage. While she waits for the law to decide if she’s widowed or divorced, she leaves scandal in Connecticut behind and flees to Texas to begin anew. But she needs money—fast. What better way to earn her grubstake, than by cooking meals for the richest rancher in the state?

Cyrus Burke works hard for every penny he makes and prides himself on knowing where to cut costs. He doesn’t want a wife cluttering up his life. His housekeepers are good enough—round the clock employees tending his sexual appetite, too. Mrs. Lacey applies for the position and looks like a promising candidate. Delicious in fact, as smooth and creamy as a tasty tart.

When Eleanor and Cyrus come together, it’s a recipe for hot love—take one wickedly willful widow and one arrogantly masterful man, add a dash of decadent desire, a pinch of sizzling naughty, and turn up the fire.

“…This is the kind of book which you start and you can’t stop reading until you’re done with it and then you want to read it all over again – it’s that good.  Actually I have to admit I read it again during the writing of this review…” Review Site:Two Lips Reviews; Reviewer: Laura; Rating: 5 Stars and a Recommended Read.

“Gem Sivad is one of the queens of “naughty” historicals. The banter between Cyrus and Eleanor in this book is so much fun, and the heat they produce is scorching…I hope that Eleanor’s sisters get their own books as they move to Texas to open up her tea shop.”  Review Site: Melissa’s Mochas, Mysteries and More; Reviewer: Melissa; Rating: 4 Stars.
