Veterans Day – let’s celebrate with some military cowboys

Today is Veteran’s Day, a time when we honor all the men and women who have served and continue to serve to protect this country and guard our safety. I thought I’d give you a little taste of some of my military cowboys. And by the way, when you see anyone in uniform, be sure to say a\Hi and thank them for their service.

Leave me a comment. you might win your choice of one of these books:

Unconditional Surrenderunconditionalsurrender_800

Slade Donavan is the leader of a Delta Force team, a Texas rancher who has left his horses to serve his country. But he’s so much more than just an alpha male on the battlefield, he also likes to dominate in the bedroom, a role he prides himself in. But what happens when he wants more than just a woman to play with, what happens when he needs someone to share his life with? Kari, an assistant district attorney, works hard and plays hard too. But since a meeting with a Dom, when she was a young, naïve sub, five years ago, she’s been searching for that very Dom but without success.

Lock and Load

Two people who want a relationship built on trust yet neither believe in it…until he shows her how to accept his domination and she learns the true meaning of submission.

lockandload_800Beau Williams, the perfect sniper, has achieved success by closing himself down emotionally. He desperately wants to find a permanent sub who enjoys spanking and caning as much as he enjoys administering them, but he doesn’t know if he can open himself up to another person ever again.

Megan Welles is still struggling with her need to be a submissive. She wants a man who will give her that without destroying the strength she needs for her job as sports reporter. And she’s tired of hooking up in bondage clubs but never connecting emotionally with anyone.

When she meets Beau and takes him home for the night, something clicks between them, but how will they deal with the struggle to open up their emotions to each other?

Ride the Mustang

Fletcher “Mustang” Call is a born and raised cowboy, hence his call sign, Mustang. He is also a dedicated SEAL and a committed Dom. The one thing he isn’t is relationship material. A tragedy in his past killed his desire for more than a good time on leave and a little D/s play. Until April Coe walked into his life, a woman unlike any he’s known. Problem is, she’s as vanilla as they come.perf5.000x8.000.indd

April was warned about Mustang, a man as wild and free as his call sign, so she doesn’t expect him to stick around for long. That’s okay, she’ll enjoy the great sex while she can. At least, she thought it was great. When she senses her sexy bronco is holding back, she has to decide whether to ride the mustang a little harder or set him free

And one who’s not quite a cowboy but cold be and stands for everything that SEALs mean.

Wet Heat

It was supposed to be a month in a cottage by the lake in Maine. For Peyton Gerard it was time to recover from not one but three disastrous breakups and try to find her muse again. A successful romance novelist needed to believe in romance to write about it believably, and Peyton had lost her faith in it.

For Dixon “Dix” Amendola it was supposed to be time to rehab his injured thigh from a SEALs mission that fell apart, to mourn the two team members who were killed and to deal with his guilt. Learning the mission had been compromised did nothing to ease the burden of blame he carried.DH_Wet Heat_web-ready_med

The problem: the cottage had been rented to both of them by accident.

Put two stubborn people in close quarters—a hot SEAL and a an appealing author, add in moonlit nights by the lake and suddenly they don’t mind sharing. But then reality intruded, Dix returned to lead a repeat of the mission and all Peyton could do was pray it was successful and that when he returned, he’d come back to her

all three books sound great. My greatgrandfather, grandfather, father, husband, father-in-law, 2 sons, son-in-law and my hubby’s brother were all in the military. The brother died during viet nam war. So my family is very patriotic as you see. thanks for the chance. 🙂

  2. Laurel Lasky says:

My 90 year old husband is a vet, joined the navy at 17 right after Pearl Harbor and became a radar tech until 1945, and was called back for the Korean War. I’m very proud of him. Last year he went on the Honor Flight too Washington and he had a great time. Thanks for the chance to win one of your books. They sound great.

  9. piperdyson says:

I have so many friends who have served proudly in the British armed forces, sadly some of them have lost friends. When I ask them what they think of military romance, they love it, it’s a good way to raise awareness of what life can be like when they return but also gives them a few ideas to 😉

  10. Ginger Robertson says:

    Hi Desiree,

My son is in our Alabama Reserves, a Marine and is currently in Abu Dhabi until April 2016. He is doing well and working 12 hour days he told me last night as he and I were PMing on Facebook.
I wish to say a big THANK YOU to our veterans for their service.

    HOT, SMOKIN HOT books.

  11. Shirley Long says:

Four of the best books I’ve ever read. But then again, what would we expect from a Desiree Holt book?? Nothing better than military and cowboy all rolled into one man.
And as the wife of a former Air Force B52 crew chief during the Vietnam era, I can only urge everyone to thank ALL military personnel for their commitment and sacrifice to our safety and way of life. Without them our world would be an entirely different place.

  12. Deb Diem says:

Ahhh Desiree, you are a joy to read and you have books for every occasion. God Bless and Protect Our Service Men & Women.
