When I first started publishing, a lot of my work took place in Texas. I had spent most of my life there, so I figured it was always a good place to set a book. Of course, if you are going to have books set there, you will probably end up with a cowboy or two somewhere down the road.
The idea for A Calculated Seduction was easy. Trust is always a big thing in my books and I wanted to have two people who just didn’t trust each other for all the wrong reasons. I just needed a business and in Texas, a boot business made sense. I have two connected books, one a category length book (A Calculated Seduction) and the other a novella with a bullrider who is the spokesperson for the company.
A Calculated Seduction
Dulcy Menendez has enough problems dealing with her stepmother and two stepsisters. She doesn’t need her sexy new boss, Ethan MacMillan, watching her every move. Especially since every time she catches his gray eyes studying her, her pulse races and her mind conjures up images of the two of them naked.
Security expert Ethan has taken over his uncle’s company to ferret out an embezzler, and he’s sure Dulcy has something to do with it. He decides, against his better judgment, to seduce the secrets out of her, planning on stopping short of taking her to bed. One limo ride later, and a very determined Dulcy, causes Ethan to decide between work and love. When the sun rises, the truth is revealed, leaving them with one question: What do both of them do when they find themselves in love with a person they can’t trust?
Champion bull rider Gerry Dillon has everything a man could want. He’s got more money than he knows what to do with, the adoration of fans, and his pick of women. And it was almost enough… until he comes up close and personal with a killer bull. After almost dying, he decides to make a few changes in his life. First thing on the list: go after the one woman he has always loved. Charlie Freemont doesn’t want anything to do with Gerry. When he left their little Texas town all those years ago, he broke her heart. She’s moved on…or she thought she had. Ignoring him when he is miles away was much easier than resisting him when he is front and center in her life. She might let him charm her into bed, but that doesn’t mean she has to give him her heart. Convincing her he’s there to stay will take more than Gerry’s average riding skills but this is one cowboy determined to win the final round.
