It’s the FINAL countdown

They say all good things must come to an end…and for me, that big ending will arrive on Sept. 9 with the release of Falling Softly, the last story in the Compass series. Jayne Rylon and I began this voyage back in 2011 when Northern Exposure came out, I don’t think either of realized how much this family, these stories would impact our lives. The third book in the Compass Brothers series, Eastern Ambitions, gave both of us our first hit on the New York Times and USA TODAY bestsellers lists in November 2011. Then…we hit again (and higher!) with Western Ties in March, 2012. It landed at #17 on the NYT bestseller list the same week 50 Shades of Grey was #1. Getting the calls that we hit those lists are still probably in the top 10 moments of my life!

In 2013, we created the daughters. We were hanging out at a conference one night and said, “What would bring the Compass Brothers to their knees?” The obvious answer–girls! lol. So…the Compass Girls series began. Three of the four books is out now and I thought I’d share the covers, blurbs and buy links with you today in an attempt to tempt you to give them a try. I’m also sharing the blurb and cover of the very last Compass book, Falling Softly.

Winter’s Thaw, Compass Girls, book 1

Sometimes life doesn’t go according to plan. Sometimes it’s better.

Sienna Compton has it all figured out. Her life’s goals are set and it is all systems go. At least, it was. Until her long-time boyfriend Josh threw a ringer into the master plan, requesting a “break” from their relationship. Now she’s left alone during the long, cold Wyoming winter, questioning what her heart has always believed to be true love.

Daniel Lennon is facing an uncertain future. When a tragic accident leaves him unable to pursue his career as a professional bull rider, he finds himself at Compass Ranch, working to help Sienna’s father, Seth, build his horse breeding business. One look at Sienna has Daniel envisioning things he never imagined wanting—a permanent home, love, marriage—and he’s willing to use all the red-hot tricks in his sexual arsenal to melt the ice surrounding Sienna’s broken heart.

When lust turns to genuine emotion, can Daniel convince Sienna to take a chance on something different and unexpected? Can he persuade her to consider a new path, one that will lead her directly to his arms…forever?

Hope Springs

Compass Girls, Book 2

What will grow from the seeds of desire?

Hope Compton never considered her parents’ unconventional relationship a dangerous thing. Until, after a few too many drinks in a crowded bar, she admits her desire for a ménage to her college boyfriend—and uninvited guests try to turn her fantasy into a nightmare.

When Wyatt catches some thugs harassing the pretty daughter of his bosses, he doesn’t hesitate to call on his partner Clayton to kick some asses. But then he realizes what a temptation the sweet, sheltered Hope presents. Especially her naughty wish to unleash her inner vixen—with both of them.

Hope has no doubt her playmates want to fulfill her every desire, but something’s holding them back. She has an idea what those somethings are. With luck, and a little help from her Compass cousins to hold her fathers off, she’ll find what she needs in the shadows of the past—and convince them she’s found two men of her own who are worthy of her love.

Warning: Compass books bring love in every direction and every season. But not all of life’s moments are filled with joy. Take the good with the bad, and the steamy.

Summer Fling

Summertime and the lovin’ is easy…until it’s not.

Compass Girls, Book 3

Too much love and loss taught Jade Compton to protect her heart and her sanity by steering clear of all that romance nonsense. She’s doing just fine, working two jobs, hanging out with her cousins and her best friend, Liam.

But when a combination of unbearable heat wave and a case of the boredom blues knock her down, she longs to do something spontaneous…maybe even a little bit reckless.

Liam Harrison met Jade when she was sixteen—in the local cemetery. If he’s learned anything after eight years of friendship, it’s that Jade has a wild streak a mile wide. And while he doesn’t want to tame the adventurous woman, he wouldn’t mind showing her a few sexy ways to channel some of her impulsiveness. With him. In the bedroom.

When he proposes a sexy, no-strings-attached summer fling, Jade jumps at the chance to spice things up and indulge some pretty kinky fantasies. Then summer ends…and Jade comes to the uncomfortable realization that there’s only one place she’s comfortable in her own skin—Liam’s arms.

Warning:  Excessive heat in this story—in the bedroom, the barn, the kitchen, the bar. Drink lots of water. Stay hydrated!

Available from Amazon, Samhain and Barnes and Noble.

FallingSoftly300Falling Softly, Compass Girls, book 4 – September 9
Viho never imagined he’d find himself in Compton Pass, Wyoming, but he should have figured that if his truck would break down on any stretch of highway, it’d be in that hellhole.  Things appear to improve when he gets picked up by a gorgeous young woman whose carefree spirit attracts him from the first instant.  Her innocent offer of a ride to town turns into lunch, then a licentious dessert in the back of her truck.  Neither of them mean for it to happen, but something about the perfect autumn day and each other’s company entices them to fool around despite their lack of protection on hand.

Serenity is shattered in the aftermath of their loving when Viho learns he has more in common with Sterling than he expected.  Her father is one of the infamous Compass Brothers he’s grown to hate.  One of the assholes who kept his father, Jake, from him all these years. The Comptons offer Viho shelter and work to fund the repair of his truck.  He can’t say no, not when part of him yearns to get to know his father.  The short term stint turns into a month long affair with Sterling, and he’s glad he stuck around.  Because their reckless indiscretion turns out to have everlasting consequences.

Now he’ll have to convince Sterling that she’s more to him than an obligation and be the kind of father he never had.  Especially as the woman he’s fallen for deals with her ailing grandmother and the impact the erosion of that cornerstone has on her entire family.

One he hopes to become a part of.  If she’ll have him.

Warning:  Sometimes it’s hard to let go, but every story has an ending.  This one will be happy, sad, and steamy.
