I tend to like the researched realism of historical tales. But I also like the modern accounts because there is no backward-spin of political correctness, no unavoidable telling of atrocities. A little erotic is fine, but that can’t be the whole tale; I need a decent plot! Sweet is great as well.
Clare, I hope you’ll try one of my historical westerns. There’s plenty of research for historical “correctness” and a lot of spice, too.

You know how much I love your cowboys, Gem! I can’t say how many times I’ve re-read many of these, and they get better every time. You not only give us scorching heat, but unforgettable people (I can’t call them characters, you make them so real) and original story lines that keep the reader turning pages. Can’t wait for the expanded version of WOLF’S TENDER and for TROUBLE IN DISGUISE!
Kirsten, I had so much fun expanding Charlie and Naomi’s story. I cut several scenes which pared the original down to only about 30k but then, it was play time. The final book ended up just over 65k. I’m excited to hear your take on the final WT when it releases.
